Review
I found this book when researching new books for our class library alongside one of my reading ambassadors. Like me, they love a thriller and we were both sold instantly; we couldn’t wait to get stuck in!
“I Know You Did It” by Sue Wallman is a thrilling young adult horror novel perfect for readers aged 12 and up.
The story follows a girl who moves to a new school after a traumatic incident in her past. As she navigates her new environment, mysterious notes and strange events lead her to believe she’s being framed for a series of murders.
What makes this book stand out is its incredible suspense and unexpected plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. The protagonist is relatable and strong, and the book offers a compelling look at the challenges of fitting in and dealing with peer pressure in secondary school.
The audiobook version was particularly engaging, bringing the characters and their emotions to life. I found myself hooked after the first few chapters and desperate to uncover the deep, dark secrets of Robinson Academy.
There is a character for everyone, from quiet and timid Georgie to over-the-top and extroverted Scott who reports on all the dramas that happen in the school. I enjoyed meeting each person and learning what part they played in the devastating storyline.
Overall, ‘I Know You Did’ is a gripping read that I highly recommend for fans of suspenseful, thrilling stories. It does contain some explicit language and is therefore more suited to teens and young adults!
