Review

The Super Happy Magic Forest series was recommended to me by a pupil and I fell in love with the bright and wonderful illustrations. I sat and gobbled this book up in about an hour and loved the crazy and exciting adventures inside!

My absolute favourite thing about the Super Happy Magic Forest is by far the wonderfully fun illustrations. Matty Long has created a crazy and wild world of mushrooms, unicorns, fairies and many other creatures which make you feel like you have left Earth behind.

The storyline is simple but fun, with a few dilemmas and hero moments which keep you turning the pages. There are lots of funny parts and some great jokes which made me chuckle.

Although this book is suitable for young readers (6+), there is plenty of exciting vocabulary to keep older readers engaged and learning new words. As a teacher, I loved that the language was up-levelled and can picture my class enjoying learning and using the new words!

I would recommend this series to young readers who enjoy graphic novels, or reluctant readers who want to find something they can enjoy.
