Review
School of Doom throws you right into a world where being monstrous is the norm — except not everyone is particularly good at it. Enter a school where the “not-quite-scary-enough” creatures end up, trying to polish their fright skills and prove they belong alongside other weird, wacky, and wonderful monsters that you can’t help but love.
I love Harrison’s wild imagination and the creepy, crazy characters (and creatures) that are all unique and exciting to read about. The main characters really stand out and have their own quirks, fears and strengths to enjoy. Crawkus the wild demon-dog was my absolute favourite, but there are plenty of strange creatures for everyone to love!
This book is both creepy and overflowing with fun and mischief. It’s super Halloween-y without being too dark, so it’s perfect for younger readers who want a spooky (but not terrifying) adventure! could ABSOLUTELY see this working as an animated series, with all the colorful, oddball monsters leaping off the page.
This is the perfect book to add to your class library as we creep closer to Halloween, or a great gift for readers who love spooky stories with a sprinkle of chaos and humour! π
