My Thoughts...

I’ve had Grumpfort on my TBR for a while, and after a string of emotional rollercoasters, I fancied something a little more fun and easy-going. This was the perfect choice!

Grumpfort follows Mo, the new Warden of Bogfoss, who is sworn to protect his village from the terrifying monsters of the Forbidden Forest. But there’s just one slight problem… he is totally useless! And perhaps the terrifying monsters who terrorise the villagers aren’t quite as terrifying as they first appear…

This is such a fun read, packed with quirky monsters, moments of action and some lovely underlying messages about kindness, patience and being true to yourself. Big, small, black and white, every page is filled with brilliant illustrations that really bring the monsters and mayhem to life!

This would make a fab class read for Year 3+ and, with its unique illustrations, would also provide a brilliant stimulus for art lessons.
