The Spirit Dog is a heartwarming and true story about a mysterious dog named Black who adopts author Steve Bonham and his friend Moha as they journey through the High Atlas Mountains towards the Sahara Desert. Through the heat, rocky mountains and deep valleys, encountering deserted kasbahs, streams of salt water, remote villages, a young snake and packs of wild dogs, this is an enchanting and haunting tale of adventure and companionship.

Review by Milllie-Rose

I read this  book because I like dogs and the front cover was calling my name!

My favourite character in this book is Black because he is the cutest dog ever! I really disliked Moha though because he wanted to rush and he sometimes doesn't tell the truth.

My favourite part of this story was when they went to the lake because Black was super happy about it. I liked that it is a true story too.

I would recommend this book to KS2 children.
