Review by Lowen
I read Barry Loser Total Winner by Jim Smith because it was eye-catching and looked really funny. I also wanted to know what he was dropping and why there was a doll that looked EXACTLY like him!
I would describe this book as amazing, an absolute page-turner and so hilarious! I loved it when the spider jumped on Barry's nose and there was literally 3 pages where Barry was shouting about it.
I really liked Barry, Nancy, Bunky and Barry's granny (especially when she was dating Barry's teacher!). I also liked how it was based on a Twidl computer game. It was really funny when his mum started playing it and Barry got some karma!
I would recommend this book to Year 3,4,5 and 6... and maybe even some Year 7 readers!
